What to Wear to Calligraphy Class

Here in Oxford, MS, the Ole Miss students started back to school today and fall is in the air! I love summertime just as much as the next person, but fall is my all-time favorite season, especially for fashion!

So in the spirit of learning while looking good, I thought it would be fun to team up with Neilson's Department Store, the South's oldest store, to put together some outfits suited for my fall calligraphy workshops!

In this season of my life as a mom of precious and unpredictable small children, I am big on comfort, and as a calligrapher I spend a lot of time seated, which also requires comfort. What I look for is an outfit that makes me feel pulled together but not restricted. I could be seated for a couple of hours but then on the move creating a large sign or going to meeting with a client after that, so I need an outfit that is versatile enough for whatever my day holds (isn't that most of us?!).

I am a huge fan of cozy sweaters, so I had to include several sweater variations here. I will say that I prefer any sleeve length but 3/4 sleeves when I am writing - am I the only one who can't function properly in those? I find I'm either trying to push them up or pull them down.

The only other thing I advise against wearing to practice calligraphy is bracelets. And I do love bracelets! But I always have to take them off when I'm writing. Necklaces and earrings are better ways to accessorize when you're sitting down to write.

Now excuse me while I go decide which one of these outfits I must have! And remember to secure your spot for our upcoming fall calligraphy workshops by clicking here to purchase your seat!
