October So Far

Just like that, October has almost gone by in a flash! It's one of my favorite months, with the leaves changing, temps dropping, football in full swing, and {on the 31st} my Halloween baby's birthday to celebrate! Little Annabelle will turn 2 this Saturday and of course we have been busy preparing a special day for our girl.

Since it's been a whirwind month, I'm sharing a few projects here that I've had fun working on this month. Hope you enjoy and hope you've been enjoying October as much as I've been.

Grey Signature Style calligraphy on letterpress envelopes for a Birmingham bride. Still kind of in love with grey ink on white.

This was such a cool project! This was a custom calligraphy commission on mats that will frame watercolor prints of a southern fighter pilot's last flight in World War II. Maj. Peyton Mathis' flight crashed in Guadalcanal in 1944, but it wasn't until 2013 that his plane and remains were recovered. Earlier this year, Maj. Mathis was buried with full military honors in Montgomery, AL, where he grew up... And where I did as well! Such an interesting story and you can read even about him on USA Today.

I also got to create some decorative pennants, place cards and door prize cards for Chi Omega State Day, which was held in Oxford earlier this month. Such a fun luncheon and opportunity to see some old friends I haven't seen in ages!

I'm beyond thrilled that my Hotty Toddy calligraphy prints are now available for purchase in the South's oldest store, Neilson's Department Store here in Oxford! What an honor! You can also purchase these 4x6 and 8x10 prints here on my website.

What else has been going on? Getting excited for the holidays, teaching lots of classes, creating return address stamps {order yours here before Nov. 13 for the holidays!} and addressing lots of envelopes. Gold and black have been the most popular colors for this month for envelopes, and I'm still loving that grey you saw earlier.

Wishing you a blessed week!

xo,

B
